Notification of attempted email misuse on behalf of the Tax Administration of the Republic of Serbia
Print Page24. 04. 2026.
We would like to inform citizens that we have detected attempts of email misuse, in which senders falsely present themselves as the Tax Administration of the Republic of Serbia. These messages typically contain alleged notifications related to tax refunds, tax payments, interest, ancillary tax charges, or other obligations within the competence of the Tax Administration, along with a request to open an attachment or follow the instructions provided.
We explicitly point out that official electronic communication from the Tax Administration of the Republic of Serbia is conducted exclusively via email addresses belonging to the domain @purs.gov.rs. In the fraudulent messages received by citizens in recent days, it has been observed that in the sender field, in addition to the sender’s actual email address, a false address of a purported employee of the Tax Administration is also displayed, which may mislead recipients.
The Tax Administration warns citizens to be particularly cautious and not to open attachments, follow links, or provide personal or financial information via suspicious email messages in order to protect their data.
